R154 of 2024 – Department of Home Affairs

In terms of the Proclamation, the SIU is required to investigate, inter alia, the:

• The issuance of permanent residence permits; corporate visas; business visas; critical/exceptional skills visas; study visas; retired persons’ visas; work
visas; and citizenship by naturalisation; contrary to-
(aa) the Immigration Act, No. 13 of 2002;
(bb) the South African Citizenship Act, No. 88 of 7995;
(cc) manuals, guidelines, circulars, practice notes or instructions applicable to the Department;
(dd) manuals, policies, procedures, prescripts, instructions, or practices of or applicable to the Department;

• Improper or unlawful conduct by officials or employees of the Department in relation to the installation of T200 firewalls; and

• Any irregular, unlawful or improper conduct by officials or employees of the Department or any other person or entity, in relation to the allegations as set out in paragraphs 7 and 2 of this Schedule
